LEADING COLLABORATIONS: NSW Collaborative Community of Practice

While leading collaborations can be some of the most rewarding impact work, it can also be overwhelming and isolating on the other.  If you are convening, co-ordinating and facilitating collaborations, it can feel overwhelming.  You might lack a roadmap, tools and the support to progress the initiative.  You may also be hungry for access to peers to lean on and be inspired by through for sharing experiences, insights, tools and tips.  This Community of Practice seeks to address these challenges.

Why:

David Lilley, Director of Holos Consulting and CFI Associate, will convene the NSW Collaborative Community of Practice.  David will also send out an agenda for the learning conversation to assist with your preparation.

Who:

You should sign up for joining the NSW Collaborative Community of Practice if you are:

  • A Backbone leader or team member
  • A member of a cross sector leadership table
  • Chair/leader of a working group

Learning Objectives:

The objectives of the NSW Collaborative Community of Practice are to increase effectiveness of collaborative initiatives across NSW through:

  • Shared mutual support, learning, tools and resources.
  • A supportive network of peers experiencing similar challenges and assisting them to take effective action to progress their projects.

Facilitators

David Lilley, Principal at Holos Consulting & CFI Associate

David has been working on place based collaboration since 1999. For much of this time he worked for Housing NSW on collaborative initiatives at the housing estate, suburb, LGA and regional levels. This included developing and managing ‘Working Together in Minto’, a forerunner to what would become known as Collective Impact, from 2005 to 2008.

David has also worked as a Senior Social Sustainability Consultant in a large firm, and held a Visiting Fellowship at the City Futures Research Centre at the University of New South Wales. Until recently David was the founding Director of The Hive Mt Druitt, a Collective Impact initiative working to improve outcomes for children across the 2770 postcode in Western Sydney, facilitated by United Way Australia.

David is currently Senior Advisor Community Impact at United Way Australia, an Associate at Collaboration for Impact, and Principal Consultant at Holos Consulting.
